2026 Porsche Pro Series Reveals First Four Wildcard Drivers

Unlike open-entry championships, the invitational structure ensures that the standard remains uncompromisingly high from the first practice lap to the final chequered flag. Invitations are extended only to drivers who have demonstrated not just speed, but professionalism, racecraft, and respect for competition. This is a series where the margins are measured in thousandths, and where preparation off the track is as critical as performance on it.

The Porsche_toggle racing platform—renowned for its demanding balance, unforgiving braking zones, and reliance on driver finesse—serves as the perfect vehicle for this philosophy. There is nowhere to hide in a Porsche. It rewards precision, punishes over-driving, and exposes any weakness in technique or mindset. In the Moza Porsche Pro Invitational Series, the car is both the equaliser and the ultimate test.

For our inaugural season, we have invited five of the best candidates to compete in the 2026 Series.

Introducing four of these drivers who have been chosen off their abilities on and off the track.

Jack Widdas

Jack Widdas brings to the 2026 grid a profile unlike any other—a fusion of competitive sim racing success and elite-level real-world motorsport engineering experience. His understanding of racing extends far beyond the cockpit, offering a depth of insight that few drivers can match.

In 2016, Widdas worked as a mechanic in the GT New Zealand Series, including time alongside the late, highly respected Tim Miles, an experience that shaped his professional standards and technical discipline. That same year and into 2017, he worked as a mechanic for Matt Campbell with McElrea Racing, gaining firsthand exposure to Porsche development pathways and elite driver preparation.

Widdas’ international experience includes working at the Spa 24 Hour race in 2016, one of global motorsport’s most demanding endurance events—an environment where precision, adaptability, and pressure management are paramount.

On the competitive side, Widdas claimed 1st place in the Sim NTE Series in 2022, establishing his credentials as a front-running sim racer. Earlier in his career, he also competed as a former AusDrift GP driver, racing against Australian drifting icons such as Rob Whyte, an experience that honed his car control and spatial awareness.

Currently, Widdas serves as the number-one mechanic for Dale Woods, and in recent seasons has also taken on the same role for Tom Bewley, reinforcing his reputation as one of the most trusted technical minds in the paddock.

In the Moza Porsche Pro Invitational Series, Widdas’ dual identity as racer and engineer makes him uniquely dangerous—capable of extracting performance through understanding as much as aggression.

Tom Bewley

Tom Bewley’s racing foundation is built on precision, discipline, and a lifelong immersion in competitive motorsport. A multiple-time Rotax Junior karting competitor, Bewley developed racecraft early—learning the fundamentals of spatial awareness, tyre management, and composure that now define his driving style.

His breakout moment came with a commanding 2024 GT86 New Zealand Championship, where he claimed six race wins and eleven podiums, demonstrating both consistency and outright pace across a demanding season. The title marked his transition from prospect to proven performer.

In 2025, Bewley stepped into the ultra-competitive Porsche Sprint Challenge Australia (Pro) category, finishing P3 overall with an impressive tally of four wins, eight podiums, and two pole positions. His ability to qualify at the front and convert those opportunities into results underscored his adaptability to Porsche machinery and high-pressure environments.

Continuing his upward trajectory, Bewley added another milestone in 2026 as a GT4 New Zealand race winner, further reinforcing his credentials as a driver capable of succeeding across multiple platforms.

Within the Moza Porsche Pro Invitational Series, Bewley represents controlled excellence—fast, calculated, and relentlessly efficient. His résumé suggests a driver who understands how championships are truly won.

Brock Gilchrist

Brock Gilchrist arrives in the 2026 Moza Porsche Pro Invitational Series with one of the most decorated modern résumés in the field. His career trajectory is defined not just by progression, but by domination across multiple categories and regions.

Gilchrist first announced himself as a championship force with his 2023 GT86 New Zealand Championship, a season highlighted by an extraordinary nine race wins and eleven podium finishes. Rather than plateau, he elevated again in 2024, capturing the GT4 New Zealand Championship with five wins and ten podiums, proving his ability to adapt to higher-powered, more complex machinery.

That same year, Gilchrist took on one of the most competitive Porsche environments in the region, finishing P2 in the 2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge Australia (Pro) standings. Across the season he recorded two race wins and eleven podiums, cementing his reputation as a driver capable of thriving in tightly matched one-make competition.

His international credentials were further strengthened in 2025, where he became a five-time podium finisher in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure on unfamiliar circuits against elite global competition.

Gilchrist brings to the invitational grid a rare combination of raw speed, championship experience, and international credibility. In a series built on marginal gains, he enters as one of the most complete threats to the title.

Scott Rankin

Rankin isn’t just one of Australias leading commentators, he can Alsop steer his way around a track. Experience defines Scott Rankin. A veteran of high-level sim racing competition, Rankin brings calm authority and deep race knowledge to the Moza Porsche Pro Invitational Series. He understands strategy, tyre behaviour, and race psychology at a level few can match.

Rankin’s strength lies in his ability to read races as they unfold. He knows when to conserve, when to attack, and when to apply pressure simply by being present. In a series built on fine margins, that experience can be invaluable.
